We welcome members from Great Oakley, Corby and surrounding villages. U3A is open to anyone no longer in full time employment.
Great Oakley, Corby & District U3A started up in May 2013 and is still relatively small with about 150 members and fourteen interest groups, but with more on the way. Our main meetings are held monthly at Great Oakley Village Hall, Corby, starting at 2pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month. There is an annual membership fee of £24.00 (2026-27 for new members with a reduction of £4 if members do not want the national U3A magazine (which is available on the U3A National website) delivered to them. The interest groups meet in various smaller venues around Corby and there is usually a small charge at each group meeting to cover the cost of the hall/refreshments depending on where they meet. The movement is supported by its national organisation, the Third Age Trust.
Everyone is welcome at our monthly meetings. Please come along and find out how you can join us, meet new people and have fun.
The next monthly meeting is on Wednesday 28th October2026 at Great Oakley Village Hall at 2pm. There will be a talk by Bob Black - The Welland Valley: Lubenham to Stamford.
CHANGE of NAME (Corby and District U3a). Please make every effort to attend the OCTOBER Monthly meeting to receive information about this important matter and the “Special General Meeting” to be held during our NOVEMBER Monthly Meeting (25th November 2026).
It is important that any decision reached concerning a name change represents a true and accurate majority of the current Membership to enable your Committee to proceed with any Change.
CHRISTMAS MEAL.
We have booked the RAVEN HOTEL in the Rockingham Road Corby for a U3a festive Lunch on Wednesday 9th December 2026 at 12 Noon for approx. 3 hours). Free Raffle. This meal will replace the Monthly Meeting for the month of December. The Menu will provide for up to 3 courses ( but will be open to those attending to chose how many courses they require). The menu and cost of the meal will be published very shortly, when made available by the Hotel.

To order to book your place… Family and guests may be permitted ( dependent on numbers attending). please send £5 per head. Deposit by bank transfer to the Treasurer or, bring your payment to our next monthly meeting on Wednesday 28th October.
